Tim Burton has said that this film would only happen if Michael Keaton returned to reprise his role
Line of Events
After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still obsessed with Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter, Astrid, accidentally opens the portal to the afterlife. Jenna Ortega, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci talk about why filming Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice was an experience they’ll never forget.
Beetlejuice: I think it was Dostoevsky who said
Keaton said in March 2014 that this is the only sequel he’s interested in making. The film references «French physicist» Maria Sklodowska-Curie; is, in fact, one of the most famous Polish scientists in history, often considered second only to Copernicus.. Afterwards, asshole..
Appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers: Michael Keaton/Connor O'Malley (2024)
SPOILER: There is a dedication in the credits to Bob the Skinner, who died in the film.. MacArthur Park Written by Jimmy Webb Performed by Donna Summer Courtesy of Island Def Jam Music Group Licensed by Universal Music Operations Ltd.. If you know the original, you will most likely be disappointed by this film, which suffers from a poor plot and chaotic script – it is a big, energetic film.
The biggest problem is that, unlike the original, it has no sympathetic characters
Adam & Barbera were established early on and were the catalyst for what was to come. The 2024 version has no such characters, which means it lacks the catalyst and any reason for the audience to invest and care about shallow characterizations, with the possible exception of Bob. There are no “moments” in the 100-minute presentation, nothing with the potential to become classic, quotable scenes, unlike the original which was peppered with them.
You might get something out of the film and I sincerely hope you do, but lower your expectations before the lights go down
Keaton, Ryder and O’Hara are all criminally underused and struggle with a shoddy script that left my theater silent the entire time and an equally silent commotion as people filed out the doors.
