It tells the story of three very different families vying to buy the exact same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they believe will solve all their problems. Denis Leary and Ray Romano both appeared in the Ice Age series (2002-present). It took me a while to get a feel for where and how this was going to go. And it also took me a while to find the balance between the dark and gritty humor and what turned out to be a fairly straightforward crime thriller. At first it was difficult to relate to the characters, who seemed rather obtuse or malicious overall… I can understand why some people would watch an episode and then turn it off. There’s so much to see, so much to watch, so little time… But I think perseverance pays off here. Some might find the ending a bit too cheesy, but a little sentimentality is not a bad thing at this time of year. I enjoyed it a lot. No need to waste time scrolling endlessly – here’s the full lineup of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
