The film begins quite predictably
This is far from what we know of director Luka’s work. Do not wait for another movie «Call me by my name». or something close to it. This is the second, and it will take you to another time and place, where men were not so easy to read.
They are still not easy to read
The only difference is that today we tend to apply our own ideas and fears to people we really know nothing about. In a nutshell, that’s what this film is all about. Having told more about the film, you will only reveal its secrets. I hope you will want to discover this film for yourself without reading much about it.
On this alone, I think the film has reached its goal
It’s slow, but very detailed and beautiful to watch, but it’s getting more and more interesting. I wish there was more coverage of this young guy, but I understand the intentions behind his sometimes vague narrative. The film really beautifully and vividly explores how most of us would really like to see the true essence of a person to whom we trust our hearts.
