In his own series, however, the character is portrayed as a casual tobacco user with a penchant for cigars
Line of Events
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, is trying to seize the reins of Gotham’s underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about getting into their roles during production of The Penguin. Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of the Penguin smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but he was unsuccessful.
The DC Studios logo is seen in a rainy Gotham alley
An umbrella falls down and the logo changes to the Warner Bros logo. Seen in Graham Norton in gusti: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood why they would put a skinny, handsome, fit actor in a giant prosthetic and fat suit…
But after episode 1, I can confirm that the show is great (so far)
especially because I think he looks like some other famous actors who would have been just as good. I also didn’t really understand why there would be this spinoff, and to be honest, I’m just sick of Batman reboots. I only watched it because I knew it was supposed to serve as a bridge between the first and second films, and because I surprisingly liked Farrell in the role in the first film.
But I didn’t think I would like it nearly as much
The acting is great, the script is excellent, and the film surprised me with some unexpected twists. What I liked most was the fact that there was a lot more color here than in Batman. It caught my eye almost immediately, as it was a major criticism of the film for me (it felt like I was watching it through the lens of Zack Snyder).
